My brothers like them so much, I have a problem using them because they've always got em.You're want to buy Creative HS-800 Fatal1ty Gaming Headset, yes. I'd like to be able to hear when food's ready. A lot of ambient noise from the room can make it passed the headphones, but that isn't a problem for me. The only other thing which could be considered a con by others is they don't do much for blocking outside noises. I wouldn't want something real heavy pulling down on the one earpiece anyway. The remote volume and mic control on the cable feels a bit cheap, but it works so there's no real problem. My brothers use it so often now, I'm thinking of getting them a set for Christmas.Ĭons: None to speak of really. The pockets are also deep enough that my ears aren't constantly rubbing on the earpieces, and don't exactly have small ears. They're not overly heavy either, which means your neck doesn't get worn out from trying to balance a heavy head-set. Its also indexed so its always lined up if its removed. The mic itself is also removable so it doesn't get in the way if you don't need it. The Mic is short enough that it doesn't get in the way of food and drink during gaming, and it has clear sound. I can wear these for hours at a time and not feel fatigued. The cloth covering allows your ear and skin underneath to breathe, which means your head and ears don't get sweaty under extended periods of use. Sound is superb (when studio quality 48khz is selected), durability is pretty good, and most importantly you don't hear that godaweful annoying scratchy noise in the ear pieces when the cord rubs on your clothing. Overall Review: I've gone through far more headsets than I could count now and of all of them, this has been the best headset I've ever owned. It survived being dropped, thrown, and to some extent it survived being crushed since it still works just fine, there's just that rattling of that plastic peg in one of the ear pieces now. It feels that way, but this headset has taken one heck of a beating and didn't break until someone sat right down on it with all their weight on it. (the rattling from the broken ear piece is quite annoying now - which is why I buy another one and hopefully people don't sit on it >.>)Ĭons: On the first pair I had there was a faulty USB plus which caused a random buzz in the ear pieces (similar to when you plug in a guitar amp and there's that initial buzz noise). Mind you, I'm insanely picky with headsets when it comes to that kind of noise.and these pass the test with flying colors. This is the biggest plus to me - there was little to no sound in the earpieces from the cord rubbing around on my clothing and the headset didn't shift on my head, either, causing noise - and if it did I couldn't hear it. Came in crystal clear for most people and I never had any quality/volume issues with it. If not for being sat on, I'd dare to say they'd last me another year. There's a rattling in one ear now where a plastic peg broke off inside or something but they're still going strong other than that. They got sat on recently and broken but still work. Pros: Had the best sound quality out of any headset I've owned to date. In other scenarios, no one can hear me - I will run the mic check in Windows and I can barely hear the playback, as if I was underground. At times the mic will be loud, clear, without issue. Tested with a pair of earbuds I had laying around and they work fine. Went through all the usual troubleshooting steps, reinstalling the audio drivers, chaning ports again, still no-go. Sure enough, problem is now occurring when plugged into rear audio port. ![]() Swapped from my front audio port to the rear audio port and the problem went away for about 2 days. Thinking I just hit on a poorly recorded video (without stereo) I went to confirm it was also occurring in games. First few weeks, great! About a week ago, I lost sound in the left ear. Overall Review: I've only had these a few weeks. Soft texture of ear pads make this headset very warm to wear Fairly decent sound quality once you configure them properly (very quiet with defaults, you have to adjust sound in system settings)Ĭomfortable (but heavily insulated/hot) ear padsĬons: Frequently loses audio in left ear.
